Adoption begins a lifelong journey—and families deserve support at every stage. The Next Steps Program serves Region 3 families who’ve adopted through the Texas foster care system. Every member of the family—the adoptee, adoptive parents, and biological children—may need guidance and care as they adjust and grow together.
A family’s needs evolve after adoption, and we’re here for the long term—providing access to resources, community connections, and guidance to help keep families strong and thriving. Through partnerships with local and statewide organizations, Next Steps offers personalized, ongoing post-adoption support. Research shows that states with strong post-adoption services see fewer disruptions and more stable family outcomes.
Therapeutic Services, including: Psychological testing, Neuropsychological testing, Autism evaluations, ADHD testing, Behavioral skills services provided by QMHPs (Qualified Mental Health Professionals)
Professional Training and Development for social service providers and organizations
Parent Training and Education
Individual Counseling
Family Counseling
Play Therapy with a fully licensed, EMDR-trained, and Registered Play Therapist
Services provided by a clinician who also serves as a Clinical Supervisor
